My Story
My name is Peggy Barnes and I am passionate about organizing! Doesn’t that sound weird? For some reason, I have always been able to look at things and just be able to organize them in my head. I don’t know if it is being a product of two very Type A parents who had 7 children which demanded organization or if it is just the way I am wired. You have to understand, I have not always used these skills in my own space. I have been known to be messy and not very concerned about cleanliness – just ask my college roommate! However, as I got older, organization began to be more and more important to me and I liked keeping things tidy, but not fanatically tidy. My home does look happily lived in, but it is usually picked up and organized.
One reason I got into this business is my concern about someone having to deal with my “stuff” in the event of my untimely demise. I have heard about numerous families agonizing over what to do with a parent's or spouse's possessions after a death. I hate the thought of someone having to decide why something was so important to me. I also worry about someone having to deal with the mounds of paper that can accumulate in my home, the amount of mail we receive and the volunteer jobs in which I am involved.
My skills lie in helping someone look at what they have, deciding what is important to keep, give away or throw away, organizing the keep “stuff” in a way that will work for everyone, knowing what to do with the give away “stuff” and making all of this a very confidential and comfortable process. Sometimes it just takes getting started, moving forward and letting go.
